Edge Inspect connects - and then won't connect again

When I first set up Edge Inspect, everything worked smoothly. However, the next time I fired up the desktop application and the Chrome extension, I just got the "waiting for a connection" message indefinitely on the Chrome extension, and my external clients all said "error connecting, tap to retry.

 

Attempting to connect phone via the IP address displayed in Chrome extension also did not work.

 

Yesterday, I tried quitting Edge inspect, and then restarting it, deleting the "enabled devices" and then, somehow (not sure of the exact order of events), "Passcode" showed up again on my external client.

 

I was able to reestablish the connection and everything was fine again.

 

However, today, I am again getting the "waiting to connect" message within the Chrome extension, and the error connecting message on external clients.

 

I tried messing around, deleting and reinstalling phone app and Chrome extension, restarting desktop application... nothing is working.

 

Is there something I can try? Given the fact that the setup worked initially, I can't figure out what might be causing this.
